Honestly that's a pretty lame statement man. I'm a younger player then you and I actually agree with the older players.
For example!
You have skill rank 3 in SMG and you decide to switch to skill Long-Bladed Melee.
Knowing how to shoot an SMG does not make you know how to swing a blade. The game IS practical, you just want to make the game "easier" for yourself.
