i dont think thats exactly what he is saying. people know they cant take Pun by donating a few hundred bucks.
but back "in the day", you could take someone fairly quick by putting in $500 for END.
Pun was right by saying there was (and i think still is) a drive to want to overtake your "hosper". the problem now, is that the high levels were level 30 then. they also had level 30 stats. NOW....it would take closer to $5000 for a newb to catch the level 50 hosper with level 70 stats. the newbs are also behind on their skills.
an example is w00k. he caught those losers in 499 real quick, bc they were level 30 and bellow, had no skills and they had less than 20 END. bc of the lower equip requirments, there was no need to have above 20 or so END, except for training purposes. NOW...people have over 30 END, all the classes and a headstart on skills. the point...is that it was easier to catch people then, than it is now (cheaper anyway).
