Happiness is treated separate from Endurance(total Dev points) and there is a 'random factor' as well. These factors seem to be added together instead of multiplied. This is why people with crazy endurance can get 1:1 or better trains in a cardboard box and people in 'very nice' housing can get 1:1 or better regardless of endurance.
The effect we see where 2 10 pt trains give you more impact at full happiness than 1 20 pt train at the same happiness seems to be based on the 'random' factor. It has a more significant impact at lower point trains than at higher ep levels since it is added instead of multiplied, so it doesn't scale up. I first thought there was some kind of 'each point drops happiness at tiny bit integral thing' going on, but I don't think it is that complicated.
In your second paragragh where you say " The effect we see where 2 10 pt trains give you more impact at full happiness than 1 20 pt train at the same happiness seems to be based on the 'random' factor."
This is not correct if you are talking about being at full happy when you train each of the 10's. the reason you get more is because your happy is full again, if this was not what you were saying please disregard as I have not read this whole series of posts... and the way to acheive the highest return is to train in chucks of 2 ep per train... but who is going to waste the credits to make that happen.
Pullo, and loki were the only people I knew of that worked their training in chucks, all be it slightly more ep per...
