Its a balance. You cant do it all at once, which I find refreshing. Do you train stats or level, war or crime, long term gain vs short term advantage. The different approaches is what makes it challenging. Donators will always be able to buy themselves ahead of everyone else.
As you evolve your character you become a player in someone elses game, when I was new, Mudpies was a target and difficult to beat as he had high stats for his level, Pullo was the big boss at the top of the game.
