You don't actually get stuck in there. Once it ends you can travel back to DD.
As to the contest, I never even bothered to try and get in there. I was using my cell and we had had no home internet at that point for 6 days I was almost out of data on the cell plan I have. I usually access the net using wi-fi and if we'd had THAT I would have been on my PC.
In total I was w/o internet for 8 days. It was a VERY unplanned and unpleasant event, that I am still traumatized from and trying to forget!!!
I was however able to log in and use arnold a few times!! =)
