Yeh that seems like a reasonable explanation, as when you have no point the option to converse is not there but when you have got them it pops up so I'm guessing the same will happen with promotion.

if that's the case why doesn't the "spare pt" option decline when u convert pts to work experience. that's what i would think would happen

Work Experience is the same stat we've always had. It's on the main page. Your maximum job rank for any job can not be higher than your work experience stat.

When you have the minimum amount of career points listed under "Spare Points Needed" you will have a new option in your job duties list to promote to the next rank. It costs career points to promote, so don't burn them all on stats!

In addition, special abilities for all careers will be listed on the careers page when you qualify for them.

No, they go towards the work experience statistic listed on your home page. You know, that stat that was required for old job ranks?

for an engineering job:

so if i have a work experience of 4
i can only promot to a lvl 4 engineer?

the higher your work experience lvl the higher the lvl you can promote too. but u need to spend spare pts to get there.

You get about the same level points and experience but more money for overtime.
