exactly,,i could have a gcb of 10,but if you had 5 or 6 skills in your weapon..my gcb wouldnt make much of a difference..as for rayne who posted that he could beat someone with 1 or 2 in gcb,,,hahahhahahah...sorry man it doesnt help that freaking much,,,if it did id be able to dominate alot of players who didnt have a gcb as high as mine,,but yet i still get beat..skills are more important than a gcb,,the gcb just helps..i havent seen a difference tho,,maybe its because ive been in diss since i was 1 week old,so ive always taken full advantage of it without even knowing it..if i left diss and fought my usual targets i would gain a better understanding of its full power..that would be the only way

and yes, skills imo are much much more important even to the point they are too strong...down with skills!!!

I know that there is a certain amount of randomness too, but I am not sure what else could explain the difference.

how do you activate a gcb???  its automatic,,,maybe you used gang back up or protection..

You must be talking about Gang backup, not GCB.  GCB is the one that appears on the gang summary page and is upgraded for the entire gang on the gang upgrade page, not on an individual basis on the member list.
 
reopen for discussion please. 3 years later there must be some conclusion.
 
my conclusion is that gcb is a waste of gang points.
 
heres an easy way to find out,  find someone who you beat every time, just barely.  then leave yor gang and try them out again.   give it like 10 fights in gang and 10 fights out of gang.  then start crunching numbers, im sure bbh will give you a hand.
