it's not when you learn the words, it's when it is appropriate to use them. i'm gonna bring up my other example, there have only ever been 5 times i have used the word cunt off the internet(and meant it), not because i don't know what it means but because it's a horribly in appropriate word.

your opinion mate. we all have them and some times they will clash. i personally don't understand why it is such a horrible word. the word cock is seen as more acceptable but it is the male equivalent of the word cunt. I believe this stems back to the bullshit in religions that puts men above women. society has to realize this and start treating both sexes as true equals. my 2 cents.

i don't have the quote in front of me atm, but robert hunter described selective use of foul language best when asked about his lyrics to 'wharf rat' in an interview a few years ago. ultimately, he states that, in his opinion, those words tend to lose meaning and impact when they are overused but taking those words away from the language completely is ultimately an infringement of basic freedom of speech and should be open to the users interpretation. if you want to curse like a drunken sailor, that is your choice to do so.


i'm pretty sure this thread isn't about language though.
