no kidding lol... is there a cap on how much you can sell credits for? that 2.147 billion is a common cap I've seen.

i dont know if theres a cap or not.

what i do know is that 2,147,483,647 looks less like a random number if you convert it into base 2

exactly, and it's a very common number used as a cap. A couple of games I've played, namely legend of green dragon, have had that as the maximum allowed in bank.

I believe it's something like this:
The 2.147 bils limit applies to 32-bit PHP server with BCmath enabled. On a 64-bit machine, the limit 9.2E18.

It's actually because the database field set-up. If people ever spend 2 billion on 1 credit here, then the economy would require I be publicly caned.
