Sounds brilliant to me. The only thing that might happen is that page loading might get slowed down if its offsite ads, and youre promised that there are no pop ups.

Lords of Legend had these nice commercial packs that contained a "ErrorSafe" pop up that installed itself into computers and acted like a virus until you bought the program. It got removed, but not before some people got computer ruined.

Overall its like Matt said, once community has grown enough they are easily removed. (unless Zenith writes a lifetime contract, becomes a millionaire, and moves to a deserted island with a travelling circus and a few playboy men. Dont move Zenith Sad )

They will only be Google Adsense ads. I've never heard of a Google Adsense ad that had anything sneaky behind it. They are really just text ads in a small block. No annoying pop-ups or pop-unders.

wow, thats cool.

mostly used to the self installing pop-ups, flashy gifs, the ones that changes home pages to porn sites and so on. so if its the same ads that are in gmail its fantastic.

Since things are in test-mode, a couple of observations with the ads:
  • Ads are relevant to the content of the page ONLY if it has been indexed by Google.
  • Pages not index by Google yet are showing really lame ads for real estate since the word "lands" is in our domain name.
  • Ads cannot be placed on game pages due to TOS restrictions on Google's part. If they can't index a page, they won't allow adsense.
