Our server has an auto-update feature when there is a critical security patch. Apache (the program that allows us to see our web site) had some patch downloaded, and when the server tried to apply the patch it changed a config file it shouldn't have. So when Apache tried to restart, it failed.
I happened to be by the machine when it happened, and had to research what the issue was. Since it was a new update, there was no history about what the error could be. Chade helped research possible issues on what could have happened. My apologies for it being down so long. |
