I agree that there is a line with regards to personal information - and that the line should not be crossed.
However, everyone should stop and *think* about what information they elect to put on the internet. Too often, people hide behind their anonymous internet personas and think that they are not subject to any consequences because of this anonymity. Then, when they realize that they aren't as sneaky as they originally thought, they cry foul and whine about how they're being persecuted and/or prosecuted.
This goes both ways.
And republishing information in the public domain that is available in the public domain is not a crime. And there is (virtually) no censorship in private forums. |
