typical SV eh? its a very valid point,,why waste close to 2 mil on a weapon that doesnt perform any better than the previous version?

Pun obviously has the stats to take full advantage of the gun,but yet cant hit any better than the previous model..

now factor in the additional stats and end to use it,,any person would expect a nice improvement

((((BTW,, Conrad started this thread))))

sweetness.

Plus it tears hideouts apart.

this new axe seems much stronger on hideouts compared to the riot axe. as far as pvp, this axe seems to have a higher rate of critical hits (doubles in many instances) but a very, very low end that i cannot creep out of against a strong opponent. if i don't land a crit, i typically lose.

i agree with conrad, pun, and cheetah that a noticeable difference should be seen after upgrading (especially with the fact that all three of them are way, way above the requirements).

The pistol appears to be in the same boat. It has improved hideout attacks but in PVP if it doesn't crit it's completely useless. It basically works as a P-5 level 50 pistol that just happens to cost over twice as much, while being just as erratic at times.

It's sometimes taking 15 turns (which would be 30 under the old system) to defeat significantly inferior opponents and for the price I paid for this weapon it really isn't good enough. It's hitting for as little as 30 points of damage on some attacks which is pathetic.

For future reference Zen please don't bother releasing new weapons if you aren't going to offer a significant upgrade to what we have already. It just comes off as a con and money sink that leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

so just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that statistically it wouldn't.

conrad, as far as a good sample mean don't you need at least 10 (edit: actually i think it's 20 trials) (per gun) in order to have the results to try hypothesis testing ? (as far as your testing compared to the overall population)

it's late and i'm studying for finals so i'm just rambling

EDIT:
I don't use a shotty so i'm not entirely sure the basic statistics of it's use.

catalyst...i dont think the top players in the game are imagining the poor results of this new gun and have suddenly become liars.

as far as sample size.....i have been using the Tiff for about a year. before that...i was using the SB1 for roughly the same amount of time. after using those for thousands of fights.......it doesnt take long to figure out the new shotty is a POS. the posted results are what they are. take them or leave them - its better than posting 1 or no fight results.

i would think you would be the new shotty's biggest supportor since i have to use this weapon to protect you with. Wink

hahaha, right when i was about to pull out some bell curves you shut me down. shotguns ftw
