This is all I know, I never got any personal mail from zen regarding the subject. My point is the battleground section wasn't being used the way it was intended. Fisting pics, while funny and entertaining, didn't really have a place in the game. I must have missed the whole kiddie porn conspiracy.
I just received a letter from a law-firm stating the forums show explicit content that are too easily accessible to minors, and a lawsuit will be the only recourse unless the content is removed and policies are put in place to ensure it doesn't happen again.
So with that stated, I can't see how this battleground section is going to work. I'm certainly not going to get in a lawsuit over things posted by players, regardless of how I feel about it. It's just not worth it to me.
Some of the things in here are so overly offensive to me it's beyond words. But I let it go because it's unmodded. Well, obviously the legal ramifications just aren't worth the effort. Unless this section is utilized in a way that is a little more appropriate for the game, it has to be removed.
And please don't gripe to me about it, I didn't post the content in here. Even though it's a non-public section, it's still apparently too open. My hunch is it's not some random letter from a watchdog group. It seems a little too personal to me. But it is what it is.
