exactly! it does work good. but yes, get at least 4+ levels (IMO) above minimum to start seeing good benefits. having your strength built up to handle the extra weight is a plus too.

basically, dont equip it the minute your stats can equip it. this is the case with many weapons too, FYI. Wink
