I have the SIC now, but i have the stats for the B4C
is it worth switching?

Tactical Helmet - B4C 6.0 kg
Tactical Helmet - SiC 5.0 kg
dont use b4c until u have 2-3 resistance ABOVE the requirement, same for strength. you will start seeing an improvement at that point
exactly! it does work good. but yes, get at least 4+ levels (IMO) above minimum to start seeing good benefits. having your strength built up to handle the extra weight is a plus too.
basically, dont equip it the minute your stats can equip it. this is the case with many weapons too, FYI.

if your worried about the weight requirements then you need to add str so you can carry more... resistance above your required amount is almost useless...

Its worth it. Just dont expect to be carrying stims around for a while. I have resisted over 700+ with just the B4C on, never seen that with Sic.
