why are boards.forums not showing as read (i.e teh star thingy is still next to it) after i click on and open the topic thus "reading" it?

Are you reading the topic first, then logging in to the forums?

I do that quite a bit lol I'll read through the forums then go to reply but realize I'm not logged in. Then when I log in, all of the little "unread" stars appear.

Try a couple things. First log out of the forum itself, then log back in. Second once you log back in, go the bottom left hand corner of the forum and click on mark all forums as read. See if that helps.

btw the posts i read are STILL showing up as unread/new after i click on them (and no no ones adding new posts to it
