Yeah, that's what I usually do, and checking my recent refreshes I do get close to 15% energy refresh (14.6% but rounded down to whole number I'm sure).

If so, then do the math:
You gain (your lvl * 0.5 + humanity) every 5 minutes.
When training, it uses approx. (3 * energy used to train)
How much energy do you get per refresh? 8? 7?
