Only 1 is used. Some say the system chooses which 1 randomly, others say it's always the best one used.
Maybe Zen can lighten us a bit on that if she sees this.

you pick whether you want to attack with melee or ranged.

yes, but they mean when you are attacked
hopefully its the better one, because i dont have a melee equipped and if it choose my fists over my gun im screwed :/
