The clovers were merely by chance, and they will offer a multitude of different lucky bonuses. They will be similar to candies, however they won't stack with everything and will affect more than just combat. Some rare permanent bonuses will be available, such as humanity or work stat increases (ie Intel, Rep, End) as well as credits. They will be sellable or tradable to other players, however only 7 can be used per day.
Spacebird has eliminated the most leprechauns without buffs. Jackal has eliminated the most leprechauns overall WITH buffs. The two will get a lucky leprechaun belt.
BenderRodriguez, GlenQuagmire, NightSlayer, Snoop, and Kazeshini each had some impressive bests as well, and get a leprechaun tweed cap.

NightSlayer - Most Clovers Found without Buffs (??)
Kazeshini - Most Leprechauns Vanquished without a Clover (286)
