Screen 1
Welcome to AL. You find yourself in downtown Decatur. A quiet place of drugs, gambling and violence. Sounds like your kind of town. Lets get started.

Screen 2
On the bottom left of your screen you will see two essential parts to playing AL. Energy and Action Points (APs). Energy is primarily used in two ways. Training in the gym to strengthen your character and fighting others in order to increase your experience and with it your character level. Find the gym and use your energy to train.

Reward - Energy refresh.

Screen 3
Congrats you trained your character. You will have noticed there are 4 different attributes to train. Accuracy, Dexterity, Resistance and Strength. These attributes will dictate which weapons you can use later in the game. For now you will have to rely on your fists.
To buy weapons you need money. No easier way to earn money than through crime. Find Crimes on the menu on the left and commit a crime.

Reward - $50

Screen 4
Quick before you get mugged, find a bank to deposit your cash.

Reward - Ap refresh

Screen 5
Life in Decatur isnt all about crime. Find yourself a job and go to work. Action points take time to refresh, you will get more every 5 minutes, keep logging in and working until you have completed your 8 hours normal and 4 hours overtime.

Reward - One day donator status

Screen 6
In order to defend yourself and fight, you'll need a weapon. Go and buy a knife.

Reward - 50 Exp points
Don't you want to tell them how to get a bank acount and a job first?
The energy/ap for levels 1 - 15 are:
Lv EP AP
1 12 5
2 14 7
3 16 9
4 18 11
5 20 13
6 22 15
7 24 17
8 26 19
9 28 21
10 30 23
11 32 25
12 34 27
13 36 29
14 38 31
15 40 33

Ediit: Donator status has nothing to do with those numbers.
That sounds good so far moriarty, but thing has a point. We should show them working careers, and go to the point where after they have finished a day of work or so (give them AP refreshes to to get it done fast, AP refresh at 6 hours, 9 hours, and 12 hours. Ask them if they feel like they want to make some extra side cash, and then bring them to the crimes menu. This will also get their muscle memory going as far as Career first then crime.

Doing some crimes should bring them to another screen where it would mention how another gang has taken notice of their above average skill, etc etc, and part of the work to get into the gang would be to go out and get some weapons, armor, etc. The simple stuff. This would also bring around their choices, helping them pick their class.

On a side note moriarty, can you bring anything you found useful back in my thread to your OP? TY in advance.
None of this bullshit will work!

THERE IS A 3rd OF THE PLAYERS IN ONE GANG! AS LONG AS THIS IS THE GAME WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK BALLS!

that could always be the next steps...

Marlo

Its gotta make it easy to outline the procedures.

1) Go hustle on the street corner.
- Do a 3 card monte crime

2) Now that you've succesfully scammed some cash, throw it in a bank account before it gets nabbed!
- Open a bank account and deposit cash

3) Douche Bag Mcgee is causing trouble in D.D. GO mess him up!
- Find and attack Douche Bag McGee

4) Now that you've beaten douche bag McGee, his cohorts are pissed! Time to find some back up
- Join or start a gang.

5) Your backup looks kinda weak, maybe time to beef up!
- Hit the gym and start training.

------------

Long story short. The point of it is to make it clear and easy. It has got to be laid out in an extremly plain and accessible fashion.

Nice initiative, most people are pretty clueless when first joining an rpg like this, so a questline would be nice to teach them the ropes fast.
energy regen is:

total regen times 15.6% for donators, 8% for non donators

tell every newbie to sit down, shut up, and take it like a champ. we'll all be golden.

or they can read the tutorial Wink Wink

actually i support the questline idea for some starter things, like what the gym does, what crimes do. otherwise, they can read up!
