off topic: did you get your money back?
Did everyone here fail economics or something? This is sad.
The total amount of interest earned would be the current sum of each individual's current interest earned, give or take a couple dollars.
Conclusion: the net effect is zero!

If only the bank interest went up the more cash you had in the bank.
However he wrote such a good letter, so I sent him 5 millions.

I assume this is to say "if only the interest rate went up as you increased the amount of money you held in the bank."
That's really a great idea. That's how it works for any other bank. Of course, we can also withdraw $1,000,000 without penalty or delay on here too.
It would add strategy to the game.
Yes that would be nice. Especially since banks can loan out the dollar you put into the bank 10 times.
So the banks benefit more from a guy putting 10 mills into the bank, then the guy that has 10 000 dollars in it.
Forgot all about the money multiplier equation. Leaving macroeconomics out of it, give us more money!
In all seriousness though...10% is a nice rate, but in comparison to the amount we crime, there's not much incentive to keep the money in the bank. But if players had to choose between making 20% interest and buying 100 nimbus or a new weapon, it begins to make spending decisions interesting.
