credit market Wrote:Please understand that posting credits on the market without protecting yourself with the options below might lead to you getting mugged by the players who purchase the credits from you.

Almost everytime I buy creds off the market,
if it's a player I can beat,
I'll try a mug afterwards.

No,
I don't feel bad,
The page warns you,
it's been biotched about ad nauseum,
it's been thought out,
and is an intentional part of the game.

If you choose not to use security features via the credit market,
you
put yourself at risk, and it's your own fault.

The sad thing is,
one of the reasons I continue to attempt it, (albeit its perfectly acceptable from a rules standpoint) is that it's so damn successful so much of the time.

I'd say about 60% (rough guess)
of the times I mug a player after buying thier non-anonymous credit listing,
I get cash back.

eat the small hit for safety, and you don't have to worry about the big hit of losing all of it because of your greed/recklessness.

Not necessarily directly related to the subject of this thread, but a nice segway, and something thats been on my mind recently after a few mails from a few players.

As for this case,
if it was a set-up deal through mails/communications,
and there was some shennanigans involved, that (depending on the circumstances) could slide towards the nefarious.

Who am I to judge?
If it was a sneaky-cold-hearted-never-saw-it-coming-ninja-attempt,
maybe that's pushing the envelope more,
but I'm sick of people bitching and sending me lame threats because I bought 125k+ worth of their creds, and due to their own laziness, (what I'll call the idiot tax exemption) lost a smidgen of that profit back to me,
yes, smidgen, tiny percentage, considering.

Frag sakes!
it's like 10% per listing and a low cash amount per credit to enable pretty tight security for the credit market.
You choose to ignore the warnings that the game blatantly throws in front of your face and then blame me for taking advanatage of it?
Ha,
I can see that it would cause anger and embarresment,
but you should look in the mirror,
because I'm just the oppertunist.
The Oppertunist that took advantage of your mistakes.

On second thought,
this should have been a whole nother thread,
but I'm drunk and tired so I'll leave it here,
as it least somewhat relays to the situation.

Back to the Bacon;
InPace,
you avoided the alleged scam,
didn't lose anything,
congrats,
if there was ill-intent (scamming) on the other parties' side,
scammers get there due-worth in time.

In the mean-time,
just be glad that you had the commonsense to avoid falling victim to your own ignorance, in some way or another.

-Too much Beast Ice,
out.

Segways do always make for excellent segues.

Overall I agree with what Prophesy said, though. Post credits non-anonymously and brave the consequences.

Hardly an epic fail, especially using the strategy you do to deposit the money. Maybe an epic fail if she had bit off when mugging you.
