Works for me, just changes the status of it with no explanation.

My guess is that it sends a mail telling me there's something new, but I'd like to make sure.

AND WHAT DOES the Threaded Mode|Linear Mode do? i clicked them, but what's their purpose

It looks like threaded just shows the most recent post.

When there is multiple pages it will display the thread as just one long continuous page.
