The way it was explained to me is that the ghouls are based similiar to someone who is close in combat range to you via power level.

Hah I used the fist 2nd time around.I hit for a total of about 7 and he took me out with 7 attacks.I thought wtf why have that option if your gonna get murdered like that!

This is insane. My chances to win is 50-50. I won 3 rounds.. then lost 3 rounds in a row.

I thought the fist option was only available because i did not have a melee weapon equipped.
