It'd be the same as the last contest..People'd know the leader and blast them to catch up.

how would me blasting the leader get me a bigger turkey?

It'd keep them from getting more turkeys and possibly getting even bigger than the biggest at that point in time, in turn helping you to attempt to beat that record and keep building upon it, if possible.

You manage to snare one that weighs 2.662 kilograms (5.869 pounds).

sad...doesn't this qualify as a baby turkey and if so is it legal to eat
i mean veal is baby cows and they're meat is very tender so in turn baby turkeys should be a great single man meal...well maybe 2-3 baby turkeys

Heh. Baby turkeys have nothing on 'em. Not even gizzards. They're just good for petting and teaching tricks like 'roll over' and 'lay down.'
