I hate to sound like I want my cake and eat it too.. but can we have both?
Seriously. What about the 'historical version' that is like the current crime page with more data, and a current version, that pulls only the last few days/1 week/1 month of data and only displays the current amount of information? It could have a basic/detailed selection on the preferences page that would default to basic.
I don't know what the performance impacts would be for the basic page's return, but a basic/detailed version of both would solve the wants of both camps. |
