Why do people get grief for using belts?

They really are beneficial. The newer the belt the better the performance.

With the first couple of belts, they were 100% money sinks, high cost/low benefit. However, with each and every reincarnation of the belt I have seen great advancements, notably the Febiani. With the introduction of that belt, charges last longer and boost up my res any where from 150 to 600 hp's per battle. That coupled with the extended length = worthwhile in my book.

Lucky you, i only resisted over 1000 once and it was vs Balazar.

I saw Bigrod resist 154 in 1 hit without a belt on him and my personal best is 83, without a belt where my best with a belt is 82. Go figure...

I usually resist an average of 25-30 without and 55-60 with, so it's worth it in long fights IMO.
