The higher the number the less available? Or vice versa?

yup. I'm guessing it's done that way to give the avail number more range when more items are created and thousands more players are playing

thats how its supposed to be, but not all items have been tweaked for it yet, so a lot have 0 (which means can be bought in a shop) when they shouldnt
