... and the rest of his gang is still active, how can that gang carry on? Does everyone need to quit the gang leaving a dormant gang to be useless or is there a way to demote the inactive prez so the other members can take over?

I know for a fact that it has been done by the great and powerful Zenith before. The juggernaut gang Doomed for Destruction had KeyzerSoze as the Pres and VP and magically one day he was kicked from the gang and there was a new pres. And Keyser's profile still said inactive for xx days.

Thanks yoda. We'll have to wait to see if the Prez really does leave the game. I'm glad to hear there is an option like this.

I generally make it a rule that the player has to be inactive for no less than 7 days before he is replaced in pres/vp position. I won't kick the player from the gang however, that's up to the new pres.
