I think what people are getting at chris, is that if you have two people chugging along and are at lvl 13 (just to pick a number) then one of them decides to spend most of his time training, and the other decides to spend most of his time leveling, somewhere down the road, maybe a few weeks, or a month, the person who decided to mostly level will be considerably stronger. I believe this was the case before the happiness refresh change, and may still be the case now, though I am definitely not sure. however, I do agree with there being a balance necessary and under the old happiness refresh rules I believe the balance involved more time/energy spent leveling for maximum combat ability.
