I had written a long diatribe about how the hospitalization code is taking away from the games ability to self police its problems, but Zen interrupted my long winded rantings with her response.

I'll just point out that innocent people aren't being hospitalized for long periods of time. The people who are getting hospitalized are either directly instigating problems or are affiliated with those who are. As a former 499er who went through numerous hospitalizations I can say that I regret ever having any part in the hospitalization code being implemented.

Take the handcuffs off the powerful players who have earned the right to dish out punishment. If someone can't handle being hospitalized then they need to learn to be diplomatic about things and keep their mouths shut until they themselves are the more powerful player.
