I understand the logic. It doesn't have to be a unique though, useable item, housing, stat modifier, humanity, many more options. I would like to see something done, something small though as this was a short comp and not everyone got to participate.

From a player who was unable to compete's perspective, how are any of those different from a unique?
Useable item doesn't last, housing would be temporary, stat modifier is available to all through borgs and/or armour, humanity everybody gains just by lvling and signing on daily. These are not things that couldn't be available to everyone.
They're still a free gain for those who happened to be on. This is not to say that I oppose this; I don't regret for a moment not being on in that six-hour span. But I can see where there would be significant opposition to this.
