One thing I noticed though is that it doesn't seem to be picking the best weapon you have equipped when defending. I have a melee and ranged weapon both equipped (melee for combat and ranged for hideout hits), in all the defensive attack logs it shows i used the ranged weapon and did very little damage to the attacker in both leave and hosp attack types.

I know Zen is looking at that right now. I've mailed her yesterday after a few experiments. It seems to happen mostly with the pistols. My advice till Zen takes care of it don't go offline with your ranged weapon equiped.
