how important is resistance
Post: #1
through my last year or so playing i have been told that resistance is only good for requirements for Armour and as well as the more you have the better, so with me hearing from both sides i would like to hear what everybody else feels about resistance and how it affects you

Not sure about this as I haven't been playing as long as a lot of you, but I do know that if you unequip your armour and get attacked then you will still only resist for 1 whether your resistance level is at 1 or 40.

So yeah, to me, it looks like it is only good for equipping armour.

Has you damage resisted in pvp gone up with your resistance going up :?:

i.e.
Say u have Composite Armor - B4C which has requirement of 27 res. Once you get to 28 res do you resist more with the armor then you did with 27 res :?:

go stare in the mirror and say to yourself you're the greatest then you and your fan of one wont be so lonely.

Too rough to train and doesn't do enough for the extra effort..

Here is how I see it.

If the opponent has a higher resist rating than your "Damage" stats (Acc or Str), then you will barely do any damage to him/her.

However, most player's "Damage" stat is higher than most other player's "Resist" stat in the same level range. This somewhat make resistance pointless.

Plus, resistance is very hard to train. I say resistance is for requirement theory is more sensible.

Just like you SG, i heard a lot of opposite opinions on that specific matter.

And, to be honest, what I think about it is only based on results I've seen and personal combats.

I think it does matter.

On similar lvls same fighting type, I am quite sure an opponent with higher rez compared to an opponent with higher for same amount both other combat stats would loose.

However, it is true that skills change it all. But remember, skills work mainly against skilled opponents.

In the long run, I say yes to res.

i personally think those saying that its only good to meet requirements are just lazy.

ive personally begun a res training bender that could last me months...so after that ill wait and see if i get anything out of it or not.
