Anyone know if you get promoted in your job if you lose the points you were saving up

you lose the points needed for the promotion all extra points are still available

if you have 515 career points and need 500 for the promotion then you are left with the extra 15 cp

I am level 1 in martial arts because of this. I forget to quit my job before going on vacation and got demoted.

didn't say anything about not working for days and getting canned.
Although,
even though it wasn't asked, and CFoley added in an oddly-worded reply,
he does give good advice,
make sure that after you gain a promotion you don't go over a day or two without working any hours in your career,
or you will be fired, and lose 1 job lvl rank
