I've noticed that every 5 minutes it takes a couple of seconds after the sever has changed to receive the action/energy points. I'm not sure if any other players have noticed this or if this has just happened with myself.

That's just how the refreshes work. Has to update the databases ever X minutes. I know there is a little lag, but it's not a couple of seconds except for the midnight end-of-day script.
