I've recently had an issue with new players who attack me while I am on-line. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that as a general rule this is frowned upon unless in gang battle, etc. Anyway, can someone confirm whether this is correct or not? ( btw, they end up 'biting off more than they can chew' I've made it past lvl 3! -although not much- LOL
)

It's frowned upon when done not during a gang war, but it's not against the game rules.

My bad, I think I did see that it's just general courtesy among players. TY for your response.

It is frowned upon yes, and as stated above is not against the rules.
My suggestions is if you are having an issue with the same person hitting you online constantly, is to mail higher level players in game and maybe place a paid hit, or even just have the higher up send a nice mail saying back off.. It can really work in some cases.
