What is humanity and what is it used for I have not understood what it is used for yet

Mainly, it tells how fast you refresh happiness. Which in a way could be said it influence how much you can train at a time.
It also influence how much hp you get back at every refresh.
The lower your humanity, the slower those 2 will replenish
