If you won any of the contests you don't need to worry about ghoulache. If you want ghoulache instead of the prize, you can trade it in.
If you hit 12 or less ghouls in the first 3 contests combined you didn't have enough attacks. You didn't need to participate in all three.
Why did I draw the line at 12 attacks? That's the equivalent of one full energy bar for each contest. That's not really going all out to try and win.
