House is nobody. He mentioned something about a 50 percent chance that nobody wins, and the money gets carried over to the next week.
I assume he used the name 'house' to account for that.

If I understand this correctly, for every ticket someone buys a ticket is added to the "house". Which means there is only a 50% chance anyone at all will win in any given week. BUT when no one wins the jackpot rolls over into the next week.

you thought correct. i wouldn't even if it was free.
i'm not too big on the starting off at a 50% disadvantage and you should probably roll any interest accrued from holding the cash for the weeks that the house wins, just to be fair. other than that, good luck with it.

the interest goes with the prize.
I couldn't find any way of randomly generating a series of 3 or 4 numbers, like your standard play 3 or play 4 lottery while being able to show I did so randomly, so I did this. Also, keep tracking who bought what numbers is a pain in the arse.
The odds on this is much much better too... 1 in 300 chance per ticket beats 1 in 1000 or 1 in 10000.
Besides, throwing 10k in here is 5 to 8 crimes for most of the people playing, and the return is good.
I might do a 33% house chance next week, where every two tickets bought generates 1 "house" ticket.
