why is this such a big deal? as far as i can see, people are upset cause the thread page numbers get screwy...not the fact that someone else is determining the worth/relevance of the post.

So leave a note saying why you edited it and who edited it. Each of you can have your own color. Then it will be just like when we had Ush and Dru modding us.

Yea but then you can't see what was edited. So then who's to say you're not being unfairly edited? The days of Ush and Dru editing posts by color was the old forums. This design was implemented into the new forum for a reason.
You don't think people complained about them editing their posts? Then with no record of anything Zen would have to inconvenienced trying to sort things out.
