A few things here.
I remember bender said he asked Zen for a non weapon unique for winning the labor day contest. Zen said the winner of the xmas contest would get a unique weapon though. Bender during labor day had his own gang (the justice league of robots) and was owning SV. The item is based off his gang description from that time, not his current state.
How do we know this isn't his reward from labor day?
