let me ask you this...do you know if the xp's given have anything to do with overall battle stats? as in they decrease some as you level battle stats and become more superior over someone else. it must.

Yes, your exp decreases due to overall "power level" determined by your battle stats. Character Level I am pretty sure is not a factor in your "power level".
