Gangs will have some new options coming -- gang permissions.
Gang presidents will now be able to assign one or more of the following gang abilities to all members:
- Financial Manager - Players with this ability will be able to give anyone in their gang cash/credits from the gang vault.
- Application Manager - Players with this ability will be able to go over all applications sent to join the gang. They will also be able to accept or decline applications.
- Upgrade Manager - Players with this ability will be able to manage all gang upgrades.
- Organized Crime Planning - Players with this ability can control which organized crime the game will perform next, or cancel their current crime plan.
- Mass Payment Manager - This ability slightly differs from Financial Manager in that it will only allow a player to give everyone in the gang the same cash "share".
- Announcements - Players are given the ability to alter the gang announcement.
- Mass Mail - Players with this ability can mass mail all players in the gang.
- Surrender - Players with this ability can surrender to another gang in a war.
- View Surrenders - Players with this ability can view all pending surrenders.
- Declare War - Yes, this is the biggy. Everyone with this ability can ruin the gangs rep...ahem... I mean declare war on their enemies.
- Gang Tag - Player can change the gang's tag (that little thing before your user name).
- Gang Description - Players with this ability can change the gang's description (not the same as the announcement).
Gang vice presidents are no longer needed, as the gang president can assign most tasks to other members. Be careful in giving out permissions however, as some options can mess gangs up (like giving someone access to the gang vault and them having them steal your stuff and leave).
Kicking a member or leaving a gang will remove all permissions to the gang for that member. So if they come back, you will have to reapply their permissions.
By default, presidents have access to ALL tasks and all other gang members (including the old vice president) will have access to standard gang member options. Any special abilities will need to be assigned by the president.
For presidents, assigning permissions should be pretty straightforward. As a president the main gang page will have a "change gang permissions" link in the president options section. Clicking on this link will display a dropdown menu of all members in the gang (other than the president). Clicking the select player button will display all the available permissions for that player, with check boxes indicating if they have a permission or not.
To change someone's permissions, simply click the check boxes and submit the changes. If successful, a permissions-change page will appear with the changes.
