What is the benefit of attacking an NPC over another player?

Less people complaining about being attacked lol. Other than that, not much. But it had gotten to the point where the NPCs were being attacked WAY too much.

I saw mats go over 300 attacks in the day he was introduced... I've never seen any bot or player over 60 before that
