i was at work, so my hapiness was quite low too
Where you in jail? if you are in jail, your happiness doesn't regenerate.
Possibly your gang's Organized Crime failed? Caught in combat?
Also if you are attacked and are in the hospital, your happiness goes up slower than regular.
