are there problems with the new war system? yes.....are there problems with the old system? yes
but if we could devise a nice compromise between the two it could be interesting.
Get rid of gang deletion as that is the main concern of most people that front real life money to start and build the gangs.
add some PvP factors to the war system. This will give those that have worked hard to be at the top their due as well.
Keep the hideout but instead of hideout bonuses give stat bonuses. for instance
your gang spends 1000 points on getting an amorer. this provides your members with a bonus to their resistance
your gang spends 1000 points and gets a target range your members get a bonus to accurraccy.
those are just examples but i think you get the picture.
this would take a lot of work to balance so that those that do not donate or maintain donator status dont end up getting jobbed but it is just a raw idea i just spit out.
Those would be very interesting to see and it would also give more meaning to wars.

Here's a possible compromise to the old system vs new: have two types of wars available to gangs.
One could be Hideout wars which are fought under the system that we have now. Although I really like your idea of adding stat bonuses that could be purchased with gang points. It goes well with the next part of my idea.
Gang presidents could also be given the option of declaring Respect wars, which would be fought under the old system. Every gang is given with 100 respect points to start out with that will be gained or lost in respect wars as time goes on. However, unlike the old system, when a gang drops to 0 respect points they aren't deleted, instead they lose a membership slot (but no gang can go below 3 membership slots) and then they go back to 100 points again. And you could allow gangs the option of buying back that lost slot at either a reduced price or with gang points.

I proposed something like that but Zenith told us that there won't be back to old system

I think losing a slot is just as bad as losing a gang. Continuing to lose slots will add up the same as starting a gang over. I.E. I lose my 6th slot, purchase it again, lose it again, purchase it again, do that for 5 or 6 times will cost more than buying a new gang and then getting it up to 6 slots again. Now if gangs could decide what type of gang they were going to have whether respect or hideout that may do something for it. However, IMO losing slots for members is a crappy idea. I think we would continue to lose players or they turn into minor active players instead of very active like they may have been at one time.
I think the distant future of AL includes some very large gangs. As slot prices start costing multiple millions it costs way too much real money and/or game activity to rebuild. I miss pvp wars, but think removing gang deletion (and avoiding slot reduction) was the best part of the war code change.
IMO, the main problems with the old war system was the gang deletion and the fact that respect was absolutely meaningless.
So, why bring back something useless? If ppl still want to hospitalize others, they don't need a war to do it, they're free to do it at any time, as we can see daily.
We need to find a way to make the current system even more interesting, with more options that would influence the game even more and deeper. Like those stats ideas Grover gave.
I guess we could find a way to incorporate pvp into gang wars to affect it a bit but to completely reverse to pvp only wars and have players hospitalized for 4 straight days just so a stronger gang can make 100 respect points, that will do them no good or have no use, that would be foolish.
Personally I like the new war system and Grover's idea of adding stat bonuses to gangs. The problem I am finding now is whenever someone tries to put some PvP into the war, the other side whines and makes it not worth it. Plus, attacking a gang that has no members online is useless as well cuz you won't get any PvP anyway. If people are bored with the new system, then attack a gang that has members online and about your level and add the PvP in there yourself. IMO, this new war system is better than the last even if you get rid of gang deletion.
Grover I like your Idea only issue i see is when you leave a gang do you lose what you have gained as far as bonuses or do you gang hop and gather all you can?
you would lose them. they are a temporary bonuses that you recieve for being in the gang...if you leave you lose the bonuses.
