Is there some sorta happiness formula to calculate how much it refreshes every time?
formulas are shit shit shit shit just play the game man
it's called look at your happiness bar. not where it is then look again after a refresh, and repeat because it refreshes in a range rather than a solid #

Yeah...happiness after refresh - happiness before refresh = amount refreshed. I assume it's like energy and AP where you get the same amount each time.
