what was the text issue? also, is there any downfall if you attack someone in your own gang?

I think it was a text error when it popped up to tell you that "you can't attack a member of your own gang!"

No, it wasn't saying the persons name when you tried to attack them. It just gave an exclamation mark. Not a big deal.
